2. Pulling his ass out of the fire
Some shit just never changes. I arrange to meet Starburn, he suggests a dive bar. Not a great one either. I’ve been there, as in walked past it, I really didn’t want that kind of trouble in my life but I guess I should get used to it again.
Regardless, I head to the bar and get stopped by a couple of Tranjion Bruisers on the door. Not very bright but those Tranjions are pretty big. They make effective bouncers. Bit of to and fro and I’m just about getting myself past them and heading inside. Didn’t get a chance to though, as I’m slipping past the front window shatters. A blurred shape comes flying through it and slams into the wall opposite. By some miracle the poor sap jumps up, completely unfazed and says, “Okay, so what was the hard way?”
I don’t know he got to this point, but I’m looking at Starburn. He has, once again, managed to get himself into a fight in a bar. He seems none the worse for wear though, still wearing that shit eating grin of his and smirking suggestively at the dancer peering round the window frame.
Then, I swear, the biggest mother fucking Appello steps through the shattered window and makes straight towards the recently defenestrated Starburn. He’s yelling something at him, don’t ask me what though, who can understand what those Appellos are saying past those tusks. Apparently, Starburn can. He just looks at this guy and says, “Hey, it’s not like I had to try to make her leave with me, she just did big guy, or little guy according to her.”
I swear to Sagblu the guy does this shit on purpose. I mean, is he trying to get himself killed? Probably, given his past, still, I need him for my crew. The Appello starts bellowing what I assume are curses and starts to charge forward. I take a step to help Starburn, after all, it won’t be a bad thing if he owes me a favour, but I’m overtaken by the Tranjions. They’ve finally woken up and aren’t happy about the bar’s window. They pile onto the Appello, I grab Starburn and we high tail it out of there. A gravcab and 30 streets later we’re in another bar, my choice so not a dive, having a drink and I hit him with the plan.
